Ingredients

  • 1 pinch of salt.
  • ½ chopped onion (50 g).
  • 1 pinch of black pepper
  • 3 boiled potatoes (450 g).
  • 1 cup of mushrooms (120 g).
  • ¼ cup cream (60 mL).
  • 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil (45 mL).
  • 3/4 cup milk, warm (180 mL).
  • 2 tablespoons of wheat flour (60 g).
  • 2 tablespoons of parsley, chopped (60 g).

Preparation

  • Thinly slice all the mushrooms. You can also use canned mushrooms that are already cut. It all depends on how you prefer them.
  • We recommend that you use natural mushrooms. This is because canned ones are a bit more processed.
  • Heat the oil in a saucepan over low heat and sauté the chopped onion there (5 to 10 minutes). The most advisable thing is that you choose olive oil.
  • Once the onion is transparent, add the mushrooms to the pot and stir slowly. This is great for the flavors to stick together.
  • Add the wheat flour and mix all the ingredients with a wooden spoon.
  • Add the milk to the mixture and continue to stir everything. Milk is an essential ingredient in this recipe, in this way the mixture will obtain that characteristic sauce appearance.
  • When the milk is hot, to the boiling point, add the cream, to give a creamier touch to the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to your liking.
  • Be careful how much pepper you add to the recipe. Some people do not tolerate spicy food.
  • As for the potatoes are boiled with their skin, you must cut them in the shape of a cross.
  • When you have everything on hand and they are ready, both the preparation and the potatoes, you just have to delicately spread the mushroom sauce on top of your potatoes.
  • Garnish with some chopped parsley. On special occasions, you can accompany this recipe for potatoes in mushroom sauce with a little wine (either white or red).
