Delicious Meatballs Stuffed With Cheese And Ripe Banana

Ripe bananas and cheese are a widely used combination in Caribbean cuisine. It is precisely the mixture of sweet and salty flavors that makes this mixture the perfect companion. With these ingredients, you can also make different recipes, such as the meatballs stuffed with cheese and ripe banana.

Thanks to their undeniable sweet taste, ripe bananas go well with almost all cheeses. Generally, fresh cheeses are used if the banana is baked. For this reason, a widely used option is mozzarella, curd or goat cheese. However, gouda, provolone and parmesan cheeses are also used, which make a good contrast to the banana.

Cheese stuffed ripe banana meatballs

This recipe has a cooking time of 30 minutes. The result is a delicious bite that serves as a garnish or accompaniment to main dishes.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ glass of cold milk (100 g)
  • ¼ cup wheat flour (50 g)
  • ½ cup cornmeal (100 g)
  • 3 tablespoons of butter (60 g)
  • A whole piece of cheddar type cheese (250 g) cut into small cubes.

Preparation

  • First, heat a pot with half the water and bring to a boil. Add the peeled and chopped ripe bananas. Cook for minutes.
  • Then strain and mash until you get a homogeneous paste. Incorporate the butter and milk to achieve a puree. Mix everything until the ingredients are perfectly united.
  • Then reserve and let everything rest for five minutes.
  • Next we will use two containers: in the first, we will beat the eggs with a pinch of salt. In the second, we will sift the flour and mix with a pinch of salt.
  • Then, knead the ripe banana puree into a round shape with your hands. Make a space in the center and insert a piece of cheese. Wrap the puree again, until the hole is closed.
  • Next, pass the banana meatball through the beaten egg and then through the flour.
  • Then heat a frying pan with enough oil and fry the meatballs over medium heat, until golden brown.
  • Finally, remove and serve to taste.

Ball cheese stuffed meatballs

These cheese-filled meatballs can be eaten with rice, or as part of a main dish; its taste and aroma are really delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 500 g minced meat
  • 1 egg yolk
  • ¼ cup of ground biscuit (50 g)
  • ½ white onion finely chopped
  • ½ bell pepper in small pieces
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • ¼ teaspoon of paprika (1 g)
  • 200 g cheese ball, diced
  • Oil (enough for frying)

Preparation

  • First, place all the ingredients, except for the cheese, in a food processor. They can also be mixed by hand until a uniform preparation is achieved.
  • Then, with the help of a spoon, take a portion and give it the shape of the meatball.
  • Then open a space in the center of each meatball and place the cheese. Close again.
  • Then heat the oil in a large skillet and fry the meatballs until golden brown. Then lower the heat, cover and cook for five more minutes.
  • Finally, serve alone or with the sauce you want.

Banana stuffed meatballs with goat cheese

The versatility of this recipe allows it to accompany a good meat or fish dish; it can also be an excellent dessert. This preparation makes six large servings. They can be kept raw in the freezer until frying.

  • 3 or 4 ripe bananas, cut into pieces
  • 4 tablespoons of butter (80 g)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 tablespoons of cornmeal (60 g)
  • 90 g fresh goat cheese
  • ½ cup of honey (125 ml)

Preparation

  • First, peel and fry pieces of banana with butter. It is about softening little by little over the fire. Then mash them with a fork.
  • Then add the flour, honey and ground cinnamon. Knead until obtaining a consistent and homogeneous dough, integrating all the ingredients.
  • Then, make balls of about 30 grams, approximately, or half of the palm of the hand.
  • With your finger, make a space in the center of the balls and add a little goat cheese.
  • Next, heat a frying pan with plenty of oil and fry the balls until golden brown. Remove from the oil and put on an absorbent paper, to lose excess fat.
  • Finally, when serving, add a little honey to taste over the meatballs.
