Potato Volcano

Potato Volcano: Recipe 1
You can take the opportunity to explain to your children a little about the formation of mountains or the eruption of volcanoes. Or even tell them the history of the city of Pompeii in Italy.
Ingredients (for 4 servings)
To puree:
- 4 medium potatoes.
- Water or milk (½ liter).
- Butter (50 g).
- Salt.
- Nutmeg to taste.
For the rehash:
- Green pepper.
- Onion.
- Necessary amount of olive oil.
- 4 eggs
- 4 slices of Serrano ham.
- Salt.
The instructions to prepare this delicious dish are:
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes.
- Put them in a saucepan with water and a little salt and cook (you can also cook with milk).
- Once they are tender, strain and puree with the pureed raisin, seasoning with salt and nutmeg (don’t forget the butter).
- Cut the onion and green pepper into very small cubes.
- In a frying pan, heat the oil and fry the onion and pepper.
- Using the mashed potatoes, form four mountains with several tablespoons on a greased baking sheet.
- Make a hole in the middle of each volcano and place a bit of sofrito, then place an egg in each one.
- Bake at 200 ° C for 5 minutes (or 7 minutes if we like the egg more past it).
- Cut the ham into small pieces and brown in a frying pan with oil.
- Remove the volcanoes from the oven and garnish with the ham.
Potato Volcano: Recipe 2
On this occasion, the dish is completed with minced meat. A very simple and straightforward recipe that children often love.
What do you need?
- Minced meat (1 kg).
- Tomato sauce (400 grams).
- Flour.
- Milk.
- Mashed potatoes (or the equivalent in potatoes).
- Salt, pepper and spices to taste (thyme, oregano, rosemary, basil, dill).
- Grated cheese to taste
How do you prepare?
- In a frying pan with a drizzle of oil, sauté the minced meat.
- Add ¾ parts of the tomato sauce, also the herbs for seasoning.
- Season and mix well.
- Add the flour and milk to form a rich Bolognese sauce (a little more compact than normal).
- Prepare the mashed potatoes as indicated on the package or make it with fresh cooked potatoes, the important thing is that it is thick.
- In a previously greased baking sheet, make the volcanoes with the puree and then make a hole and fill each one with the Bolognese sauce. Another option to do this is to make a base of minced meat with tomato and then place a kind of puree cone on top.
- Pour the rest of the tomato sauce over the volcanoes and sprinkle the grated cheese on the top and sides of the puree.
- Put it in the oven for a few minutes until the cheese has been gratinated.
Potato Volcano: Recipe 3
This recipe will take you very little time to prepare and the result is really wonderful.
Items for 2 servings are:
- 5 potatoes.
- 4 tomatoes.
- 2 cans of tuna.
- Olive oil.
- Salt.
Preparation is very simple, pay attention:
- Wash the potatoes and cook them whole in water with a little salt, for 10 minutes.
- Wash the tomatoes and grate them.
- Remove the potatoes from the saucepan, cool for two minutes, cut in half and make a hole in the center using a spoon.
- Besides, prepare the tomato and tuna sauce, mixing both ingredients with a little olive oil and salt.
- Fill the holes in the potatoes with this mixture and serve.
- If you want, you can place some grated Parmesan cheese and bake on an oiled plate, until the cheese is gratin, so you will give it more of a volcano appearance.
